The Blackshaw Arts Hour – Episode 24

Join Iasha Matt and Vikki in the studio for a jam packed show of reviews, interviews and arts chat.

Matt reviews new Tom Hardy film Legend and we kick off interviews with the cast and crew of Blackshaw’s upcoming production of Staying Alive.

We hear from Ellie Pitkin the Director, Eleanor Burke who plays Jenn and Alexander Pankhurst playing the character of Jack. Helen Johnson talks to them about the challenges of putting on a show with such a complex subject at the heart of it.

Vikki talks in her Arts Thing Of The Week about the huge age gaps between women and men in film. Highlighting something that sometimes goes unnoticed (not by Buzzfeed though) this symposium on Gender in Media aims to enlighten the audience about the gender imbalance at the heart of the film industry.

Matt reviews Pomona, playing at the National up until the 10th of November, which is exactly the date that Staying Alive at the Pleasance starts! Tickets here
